Protean holds lecture at the 2026 Vienna Motor symposium

It was a privilege to be a part of the 47th International Vienna Motor symposium. Applications and Advanced Engineering Director, Richard Ford presented Protean’s white paper in the Zeremoniensaal lecture hall on Thursday, 23rd April; ‘Accelerating innovation: In-Wheel Motor Development for High Performance Application in Compressed Timelines’.

As announced during Alpine’s presentation on the Friday following, the first publicly available passenger car with in-wheel motors hits the road Spring/Summer 2027. Protean are proud to be the propulsion system that will fuel the Renault 5 Turbo 3E.

Whilst dedicating much of our energy to the start of production for our generation 5 in-wheel motors, we understand the impact that can be had from contribution to and company representation at industry events. We wanted to extend our thanks to University Professor, Dr Bernhard Geringer, and for all those involved in the organisation of the symposium.
